Dean Jackson
As a Head Coach at the collegiate level for 15 years, Dean is a seasoned professional who knows the qualities required to be successful. Coaching at Cornell for the last five years, Dean helped lead the team from 7 th overall to multiple NCAA Frozen Four appearances. In 2019-2020, the Big Red was the first team ever to finish undefeated in the regular season with the highest number of points.
Furthermore, prior to Cornell, Dean coached at Penn State University as Interim Head Coach. Also, Dean put the Elmira College Eagles on the map with his outstanding winning record; the fastest coach to record 50 wins in program history. At the helm, Dean led his team to multiple NCAA tournament appearances and a NCAA Championship in 2014-2015. His achievements were recognized as Dean was named: 2015 American Hockey Coaches Association DIII National Coach of the Year and ECAC West Conference Coach of the Year; 2013 D3Hockey.com National Coach of the Year and CaptainU National Coach of the Year; and was an AHCA National Coach of the Year Finalist in 2013 and 2016.
Dean knows what it takes to be an athlete at an elite level. He enjoyed a stellar four-year playing career at Elmira College from 1999-2003. He was named the ECAC West Rookie of the Year in 1999; he named to the ECAC West All-Conference team and ECAC West Tournament Most Outstanding Player in 2003; and was a member of the 100 Point Club. Following his career at Elmira, Dean played four seasons of professional hockey with: the Elmira Jackals of the United Hockey League, the Fayetteville Fireantz, and Richmond Renegades of the Southern Professional Hockey League.
